P ENA OLD WITH SNOW :
1-The schedule of the cable car is 10 to 18 hours , so it is important to take one of the first make the cable car trip to take advantage of the time. We set a time limit for return to the cable car and thus not a surprise lead and keep us to stay to have dropped the last trip of the day. ROUTE:
Peña Vieja to 2613 m. is the highest peak of Cantabria. The north face prese nts a means of easy access from the Hill of the gutter.
From the upper station of cable car of Fuente Dé Cable or Balcony (1834m), take the track that goes north for about 15 minutes to the crossing, the Horcadina of Covarrobres.
Instead of taking the right path that leads to the refuge of Aliva, take the left track which leads towards the shelter Cabin Veronica and the Collado de Horcados Reds.
We
along Peña Forgotten (2406 m) to the right and left are Lloroza wells (small glacial lakes). We turn next to the Old Rock solid and after about 15 minutes of Covarrobres Horcadina we have another branch called the Vueltona.
An hour after we arrived at another fork Vueltota. To the left and the Red Horcados Cabaña Verónica refuge, right, where we are going to turn, the Collado de la Peña Gutters and Old.
